Résumé
The question of the titles to be given to the ministers of the Catholic Church raises questions in terms of the way in which they have been able to stir up trouble and participate in various forms of abuse of power. Among these titles, that of “father,” as well as the function of spiritual fatherhood that it encompasses, is fraught with ambiguity, especially for children. It seems necessary for us to combine the viewpoint of a Catholic theologian and that of a psychoanalyst, a fine connoisseur of Judaism, in order to better understand its history, its particularities and its threats.
