La Pologne au sortir de la Seconde Guerre mondiale est immédiatement en proie à d’âpres conflits pour le contrôle politique du pays. La violence fait toujours partie du quotidien. Et les premières victimes de l’extermination nazie, les juifs, sont encore objet de violences verbales et physiques, mais cette fois de la part de leurs concitoyens, violences faisant plusieurs centaines de victimes. Comment expliquer ce phénomène ? Cet article cherche à comprendre l’histoire des traumatismes de la guerre et de leurs effets. Après avoir dressé un état des lieux des violences antijuives, l’article verra ce qui fait de la Pologne une terre de sang au sortir de la guerre, en analysant les racines profondes de ces violences, et en étudiant les réactions des différents acteurs.

« Dishonored by barbarian barbares... » Understanding anti-Jewish violence in Poland in the aftermath of the Second World War Poland in the aftermath of the Second World War continued to suffer from bitter conflicts for the political control of the country. Violence was still part of the everyday life. And the first victims of the Nazi extermination policy, the Jews, fell nevertheless victims of verbal and physical from their fellow citizens this time, killing hundreds. How can this phenomenon be explained? This article focuses on the history of the traumas of the war and their effects. To do so, the anti-Jewish violence in post-war Poland will be first drawn up, then we shall see why Poland was a “bloodland” at the end of the war, without omitting the deeper roots of this violence. Last, we shall study the reactions of the various actors of the time towards this episode of violence.
