Initiation à la culture de recherche auprès des étudiants en soins infirmiers en formation initiale : état des lieux dans les ifsi lorrains

Depuis 2009, le référentiel de formation des infirmiers positionne la recherche grâce à trois unités d’enseignement d’initiation à la recherche. Ainsi la recherche ouvre le début d’une nouvelle ère pour les infirmiers en France. Le développement et la pérennisation de la recherche va permettre l’émergence marquée d’une discipline en sciences infirmières. Des formateurs lorrains ont mené un état des lieux pour identifier les moyens mis en place dans leurs instituts de formation en soins infirmiers (IFSI) favorisant l’émergence d’une culture de recherche dès le début de la formation, par l’incitation à la lecture et à l’écriture. Une méthodologie mixte a été utilisée et l’enquête a été réalisée par un questionnaire auprès de 180 formateurs de 17 IFSI. Les résultats montrent une grande disparité des moyens des établissements, mais aussi des moyens pour inciter les étudiants à lire ou écrire des articles professionnels ou scientifiques. L’hétérogénéité des résultats semble due à l’éloignement géographique des IFSI des centres universitaires. Les travaux d’écriture des étudiants sont essentiellement les écrits professionnels prescrits du référentiel. Des axes pédagogiques ancrant la discipline au sein des IFSI et des axes méthodologiques concernant la lecture, l’écriture, et sa diffusion sont donc à encourager.

Since 2009, the new nursing training curriculum has included the topic of research in three teaching units in order to introduce it to nursing students. This move has signaled a new era for nurses in France. The development and the durability of research will allow for the marked appearance of a discipline in nursing sciences. Some educators from Lorraine have been carrying out a survey in order to identify the existing means in their nursing schools that can help promote a culture of research right from the beginning of training, through encouraging reading and writing. A mixed methodology has been used and the enquiry has been carried out with a questionnaire addressed to 180 health educators from seventeen nursing schools. The results show a large discrepancy in the schools’ resources, but also in the means used to encourage their students to read or write professional or scientific articles. The variety of results seems to be due to the geographical distances between the schools and the universities. The work that the students undertake consists primarily of the professional writings required by the curriculum. Educational approaches to establishing this subject within the schools as well as methodological approaches to reading, writing and their diffusion should therefore be encouraged.
