Jacqueline Guillemin-Flescher, « Aspect et détermination : un cas particulier », Presses Sorbonne Nouvelle, ID : 10670/1.xk2sog
In the first instance, Jacqueline Guillemin-Flescher tries to assess the impact of determination on the aspectual system in French and in English, retaining the following parameters: qualitative identification for simple tenses and pre-established construction for complex tenses. She then concentrates on a specific case: the plus-que-parfait / pluperfect. The author tries to determine the conditions under which the plus-que-parfait and the pluperfect appear in French and in English and concludes that French highlights location to the strict origin, whilst English highlights the relation to a derived landmark.
