Le docteur Jean-Marie Kunstmann, responsable du Centre d’étude et de conservation des œufs et du sperme ( cecos) de l’hôpital Cochin, trace le fonctionnement et l’histoire de ceux-ci, de 1970 à nos jours. Les indications médicales d’insémination artificielle avec donneur ( iad), les techniques de procréation médicalement assistée ( pma) ont évolué ainsi que la législation et les représentations sociétales autour des questions de stérilité masculine, de filiation biologique, affective, sociale ou juridique. Certains enfants issus d’ iad devenus adultes, soutenus par quelques intellectuels, ont initié un mouvement très médiatisé en faveur de la levée de l’anonymat (du donneur). Sur le terrain, le recueil des témoignages des donneurs, des couples et d’enfants concernés indique une tendance inverse d’absence de souhait d’une rencontre réelle. Alors que dans la grande majorité des cas, les parents informent aujourd’hui leurs enfants de la singularité de leur mode de conception, la stratégie du secret pourrait être à nouveau choisie si la loi (en projet) pour la levée de l’anonymat est promulguée.

Doctor Jean-Marie Kunstmann, the person in charge of the Center of Study and of Preservation of Eggs and sperm ( cecos) of the hospital Cochin, traces back the functioning and their history from 1970 until the present day. The medical indications of artificial insemination with donor ( aid), the techniques of medically assisted procreation ( map), have evolved as well as the legislation and the societal representations concerning the questions of male infertility, biological, emotional, social or legal filiations. Some children from the aid program who became adults, supported by some intellectuals, introduced a movement very well known in the media in favor of lifting the anonymity (of the donor). In the field, the collection of testimonies of donors, couples and concerned children indicates a reverse trend, of the unwillingness to meet in person. While in the great majority of the cases, the parents today inform their children of the peculiarity of their way of conception, the strategy of the secret could be chosen again if the law (in project), for lifting the anonymity is declared.
