The descriptive-analytical introduction to the translation of Ahmed Boukous's work foregrounds the challenges that the author has addressed via the adoption of various theoretical and methodological underpinnings where critical sociological analysis, archaeology, anthropology, linguistics, discourse analysis, semiotics, methods of literary criticism, discourse analysis intermingle. This approach has made it possible for the author to clarify many aspects absent from the self-discourse on Moroccan identity. In addition, the translator highlights the strength and legitimacy that characterize the discourse invested by the author, along the scientific as well as the ideological standpoints, which are both tied to the claim to establish a Moroccan identity in its diverse dimensions. He has also brought about the binary nature of the language used in these studies, where the denotative aspect is present next to the connotative one in a dazzlingly aesthetic fashion, the strong violent tone next to the soft calm one. From the foregoing, it emerges that the goal meant to be achieved is to, eventually, reach this archetype which transcendentally overhangs our diversity and plurality. This archetype is translated into reality under the form of a distinctive Moroccan aspect, namely "Tamaghrabiyt".

L’introduction descriptive-analytique à la traduction de l’ouvrage d’Ahmed Boukous[1] met l’accent sur les enjeux abordés par l’auteur en adoptant de multiples soubassements théoriques et méthodologiques où juxtaposent l'analyse sociologique critique, l'archéologie, l'anthropologie, la linguistique, l'analyse du discours, la sémiotique, les méthodes de critique littéraire, l'analyse structurelle du récit et la morphologie du conte. Cette démarche a permis à l’auteur d’expliciter de nombreux aspects absents du discours de soi sur l'identité marocaine. Par surcroît, le traducteur a mis en évidence la force et la légitimité qui caractérisent le discours investi par l’auteur, aussi bien dans son côté purement scientifique qu’idéologique, liés tous les deux à la revendication d'instaurer une identité marocaine dans ses multiples dimensions. Il a également porté une réflexion sur le caractère binaire du langage employé dans ces études, où est présent l’aspect dénotatif à côté de celui connotatif dans sa dimension esthétique éblouissante, le ton violent fort à côté de celui calme doux. Et ce pour accéder, finalement, à cet archétype qui surplombe, transcendentalement, notre diversité et pluralité. Cet archétype se concrétise sous forme d’aspect marocain distinctif : "Tamaghrabiyt".
