Marco Antonio Bernal Gómez et al., « La Cueva del Portillo un nuevo emplazamiento Magdaleniense en el Alto Guadalquivir (Bedmar, Jaén). », Digital.CSIC (SHS)
The 'cueva de El Portillo' in Bedmar (Jaén) is a significant new site that offers fresh insights into the last groups of Magdalenian hunter-gatherers from the late Upper Palaeolithic period in southern Spain. This site is interpreted as a bivouac—a place of sporadic occupation where groups sought refuge. It seems to have been oriented towards a high mountain hunting economy, with evidence indicating that Magdalenian hunter-gatherers engaged in domestic and economic activities during different seasons of recurring occupancy.
