L’alimentation à Nuuk, miroir d’un « anti-Groenland » en quête de centralité culturelle

Tandis que Nuuk est souvent considérée comme ne faisant pas partie du « vrai Groenland », l’article questionne l’identité groenlandaise sous le prisme de l’alimentation et de la possibilité pour Nuuk d’acquérir une centralité culturelle via des pratiques alimentaires communes aux Nuukois au-delà de leur origine. L’article dépasse l’opposition entre autochtonie et allochtonie et cherche à souligner au contraire le lien culturel que représentent les pratiques alimentaires à Nuuk. L’enjeu réside dans un premier temps à analyser les dynamiques propres à l’identité alimentaire nuukoise et le décalage qui peut exister entre la capitale et le reste du Groenland. Cette divergence est remise en question par les stratégies de transmission et d’adaptation du patrimoine alimentaire qui conduisent à la réaffirmation de la centralité culturelle de Nuuk au Groenland. L’émergence d’une identité inclusive dans la capitale multiculturelle favorise-t-elle alors la construction d’un vivre-ensemble qui dépasse les oppositions ethniques qui peuvent subsister au Groenland ?

Based on the claim that Nuuk is not the “real Greenland”, the paper questions the content of Greenlandic identity by examining the possibility for Nuuk to acquire cultural centrality through Greenlandic food practices. The analysis will try to overcome the opposition between autochtony and allochtonia and to affirm instead the function of food practices in strengthening social ties. First, the challenge will be to analyse the dynamics of the Greenlandic food identity and the gap that may exist between Nuuk and the rest of Greenland. This divergence is then challenged by the strategies of transmission and adaptation of the food heritage that lead to the reaffirmation of the cultural centrality of Nuuk in Greenland. Does the emergence of an inclusive identity in Nuuk then promote the construction of a living together that transcends the ethnic oppositions that may remain in Greenland?
