Lo studio intende individuare uno schema delle relazioni stabilite dal nunzio Giovanni Battista Pamphilj a Madrid (1626-1630) attraverso l’analisi delle lettere di congratulazioni ricevute per la sua promozione cardinalizia (1629-1630) e per la sua elezione al soglio pontificio nel 1644, quando assunse il nome di Innocenzo X. Attraverso l’ausilio del database Fichoz è stato possibile raccogliere dati sui mittenti e comprendere come il nunzio costruì una rete di conoscenze con l’élite spagnola, tra cui alcuni esponenti dei monasteri femminili di Madrid.

The objective of this study is to identify the relationships established by the nuncio Giovanni Battista Pamphilj in Madrid (1626-1630) through the analysis of the congratulatory letters he received for his promotion to cardinal (1629-1630) and for his election to the papal throne in 1644, when he assumed the pontificate under the name of Innocent X. With the help of the Fichoz database, we were able to collect data on the senders and understand how the nuncio built up a network with the Spanish elite, including some members of the female monasteries of Madrid.
