La thématisation du sacrifice, bien qu’importante chez Adorno, y est le plus souvent sous-jacente, développée indirectement et dans l’interprétation de l’Odyssée. Nous cherchons à contribuer à mieux révéler ses modalités, son historicité et ses enjeux en la confrontant avec la théorie mimétique de René Girard, chez qui est décisive la conversion du mécanisme de désignation de la victime en un sacrifice à l’origine de la société. Après avoir présenté la réflexion qui pose le sacrifice comme une violence nécessaire, du fait de son sens social, nous restituons la place du sacrifice chez Girard avant d’esquisser la manière dont cela peut préciser l’historicisation et la recontextualisation sociale qu’Adorno en fait.

Die Thematisierung des Opfers ist bei Adorno zwar wichtig, aber meist unterschwellig, indirekt und in der Interpretation der Odyssee entwickelt. Wir wollen dazu beitragen, ihre Modalitäten, ihre historische Einbettung und ihre Herausforderungen besser aufzudecken, indem wir sie mit der mimetischen Theorie von René Girard konfrontieren, bei dem die Umwandlung des Opfermechanismus in ein soziogenetisches Opfer entscheidend ist. Nachdem wir die Denkweise vorgestellt haben, die das Opfer aufgrund seiner sozialen Bedeutung als notwendige Gewalt setzt, stellen wir den Platz des Opfers bei Girard wieder her, bevor wir umreißen, wie dies die Historisierung und die soziale Kontextualisierung, die Adorno davon durchführt, präzisieren könnte.

The thematization of sacrifice, although important in Adorno's work, is more often than not subjacent, developed indirectly and through the interpretation of the Odyssey. Our aim is to help reveal its modalities, its historicity and its stakes by comparing it with René Girard's mimetic theory, in which the conversion of the victim mechanism into sociogenetic sacrifice is decisive. After presenting the argument which posits sacrifice as a necessary form of violence, because of its social meaning, we return to the place of sacrifice in Girard's work before sketching out in which way this could clarify Adorno’s historicization and social recontextualization of it.
