Si prendono in esame per la prima volta i ritrovamenti di cereali, sempre ben conservati, di Ercolano, in particolare quelli degli scavi degli anni’30. Si tratta di 12 diverse quantità, recuperate sia in botteghe di generi alimentari che in abitazioni. Si è cercato, per quanto possibile, di ricostruire i contesti originali. Si discute poi della minore quantità di pistrina individuati finora a Ercolano rispetto che a Pompei, forse da ricollegare al diverso carattere economico-sociale delle due città.

For the first time, still very well preserved cereal finds of Herculaneum are examined, particularly those of the excavations of the 1930s. They consist of 12 different quantities, recovered both in shops of foodstuffs as well as in habitations. Wherever possible, it has been attempted to reconstruct the original contexts. There follows a discussion of the smaller quantity of pistrina found at Herculaneum in comparison to Pompeii, which perhaps must be connected to the different socio-economic character of the two cities.
