Der Artikel versucht den gedanklichen Weg nachzuzeichnen, den Kunert ging, als er noch in der DDR lebte und dort als einer der wichtigsten Autoren seiner Generation galt, dann auch in der BRD von der Kritik und der literarischen Öffentlichkeit der Bundesrepublik mit größter Aufmerksamkeit wahrgenommen wurde, bis hin zum „Platzwechsel“, sprich Flucht der Flucht in die BRD und wie er dort seinen literarischen Platz fand und auf die Jahre in der DDR zurückblickte. Kunert, der das Wort Exil nicht für sich verwenden wollte, wurde nicht besonders herzlich in der BRD aufgenommen, blieb sein Leben lang gegenüber der DDR und ihrer Entwicklung sehr kritisch und begrüßte den Fall der Mauer und das Ende der DDR.

L’article a pour but de retracer le parcours intellectuel de Kunert depuis ses débuts en RDA alors qu’il était considéré comme l’un des auteurs les plus importants de sa génération et que la critique littéraire ouest-allemande commençait à peine à le découvrir, jusqu’au « changement de lieu », la fuite vers la RFA, et ses tentatives pour trouver sa place dans un milieu littéraire qui ne l’a pas particulièrement bien accueilli. Kunert, qui ne voulait pas utiliser le mot d’exil pour parler de son expérience, est resté toute sa vie très critique à l’égard de la RDA et de son évolution, saluant la chute du Mur et la fin de la RDA.

The article aims to trace the intellectual path Kunert took when he was still living in the GDR and was considered one of the most important authors of his generation there, when he then began to be noticed with the greatest attention by critics and the literary public in the FRG as well – up to the “Platzwechsel”, i.e. escape to the FRG, and how he found his literary place there and looked back on the years in the GDR. Kunert, who did not want to use the word “exile” for himself, was not particularly warmly received in the FRG, remained very critical of the GDR and its development throughout his life and welcomed the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the GDR.
