In order to attract tourists--both people and businesses--many cities organize events (Getz and Page, 2016) in order to amplify the diversity of their tourism offer (mega-events, sporting events, cultural events, commercial events, business events, etc.). Certain metropolitan cities go so far as to invest in a long-term development plan simply to create a short event (METROPOLIS, 2002, Gravari-Barbas, 2009).
