This dataset has been collected thanks to the long-term partnership with Department of Agricultural Land Management (DALaM), Lao PDR, which granted the permission for field access, and to the financial, scientific, technical, and/or logistical support of the Multiscale TROPIcal CatchmentS (SNO M-TROPICS; https://mtropics.obs-mip.fr/) critical zone observatory (previously MSEC). This .csv dataset includes: 2001-2019 daily rainfall (mm); 2014 6-min rainfall (mm); 2014 microplot-trapped volume of water (L m-2), mass of sediment (g m-2), and runoff coefficient (%); 2014 Gerlach-trapped volume of water (L m-1) and mass of sediment (g m-1); 2015 infiltration from rainfall simulation (mm h-1); 2014 soil surface features including areal percentages (%) of free aggregates, free gravel, structural crust, erosion crust, gravel crust, charcoals, residue cover, worm casts and termite tunnels, algae, mosses, teak cover, weed cover, along with crop mean eight (m), weed mean height (cm), microsteps and pedestal features (%), and median height microsteps and pedestal features (cm). All variables were measured within the Houay Pano catchment, Northern Lao PDR. The authors acknowledge the financial support of the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD) and from the French National Research Agency (TecItEasy project; ANR-13-AGRO-0007), and the help of the inhabitants, including farmers and workers, of the Laksip village, Northern Lao PDR.
