In 1689, Marie Guerey's marriage was "set up" by her grandmother. In so doing, the latter effected the restitution of a heritage that had been unjustly acquired and reconcilied two peasant lineages. The creation of this couple is significant in its particular context, that of Norman Inheritance Custom and the Catholic Reformation.

En 1689, à Emondeville (diocèse de Coutances), la grand-mère de Marie Guerey "arrangeait" le mariage de sa petite-fille. Elle organisait ainsi la restitution d'un patrimoine injustement acquis et réconciliait deux lignages paysans. La formation de ce couple est replacée dans son environnement particulier, la Coutume de Normandie et la Réforme Catholique.
