Alexandra Sfini, The Language of Revolution and the conceptual transfer of the Montagnard Constitution in Greek. This study examines the diffusion of modern political concepts in Europe, notably in the southeastern part, by means of a text that was the principal véhicule of a new political language : the French Constitution. The analysis of the major concepts in the translation made by the Greek patriot Rigas Velestinlis in 1797 compared with the original, the Montagnard constitution, aims to discover the modifications in the language during a period of transition and intense politization that characterized the years from 1790 to 1800, years during which the reverberations of the French Revolutionary « moment » produced in the southeastern part of Europe the first phase in the movement of liberation of subjugated peoples.

La présente étude voudrait contribuer à la réflexion sur la diffusion des concepts politiques modernes dans l'aire européenne, notamment dans la région du Sud-Est, à travers le transfert d'un texte qui fut le principal véhicule du nouveau langage politique, à savoir la Constitution française. L'analyse des principaux concepts de la traduction faite par le patriote grec Rigas Velestinlis en 1797 en comparaison avec son original, la Constitution montagnarde, se propose de déceler les modifications du langage dans une période de transition et de politisation intense, comme le furent les années 1790-1800, pendant lesquelles, sous la résonance du « moment » révolutionnaire français, se produisit dans le Sud-Est de l'Europe la première phase du mouvement de libération des peuples dominés.
