Abstract En Fr

In the 16th and early 17th centuries, sources on musical life are rare. We will examine here those that come from cathedrals, choirs, academies, colleges and public shows in Saumurois, Guyenne and adjacent countries. After a reminder of what favors its practice, Angoulême, Bordeaux, La Rochelle, Limoges, Niort, Poitiers, Saintes and Saumur are evoked. This territory reflects the evolutions observed elsewhere, such as the scarcity of music prints and the influence of the Protestant community.
