Résumé En It Fr

In two places of his works in verse (De memorabilibus VII, 3, 94 and epist. V, 73) Rodulfus Tortarius employs the word vafria, which is not attested in other Latin works. It is not, however, a neologism created by the French poet, but a corruption, present in the manuscript tradition of the Facta et dicta memorabilia of Valerius Maximus (VII, 3, ext. 2) in place of the correct word vafritia, and deemed an authentic Latin word by Rodulfus. The paper aims also to discuss the intertextual relations that emerge from the analysis of the texts under consideration.
