Die Gestaltung von Messgewändern und Altartüchern in Toulouse, vom 16. bis zum 19. Jahrhundert. Diese Studie untersucht die Rolle und die Bedeutung von liturgischen Textilornamenten im kirchlichen Leben der ländlichen Gemeinden der Diözese von Toulouse vom 16. bis zum 19. Jahrhundert. Demnach war ihre stilistische Entwicklung eher von wechselnden wirtschaftlichen und modischen Rahmenbedingungen als von feststehenden gottesdienstlichen Vorschriften geprägt. Die frühneuzeitliche und neuzeitliche Herstellung von Kirchentextilien kann also dem Kunsthandwerk zugeordnet werden.

Chasubles in Toulouse from the Sixteenth to the Nineteenth Centuries. Establishing the [functions] and the uses of textile liturgical ornaments in the rural parishes of the Diocese of Toulouse between the Sixteenth and Nineteenth centuries, this study reveals their stylistic evolution, more related to the hazards of economic cycles and of fashions than to liturgical prescriptions. Early modem chasuble making must therefore be classified among the applied arts.

Établissant les fonctions et les usages des ornements liturgiques textiles dans les paroisses rurales du diocèse de Toulouse entre le XVIe et le XIXe siècle, cette étude dégage leur évolution stylistique, liée davantage aux aléas de la conjoncture économique et de la mode qu'aux prescriptions liturgiques. La chasublerie moderne doit donc être rangée parmi les arts appliqués.
