Die vicariae in der Auvergne und deren Randgebiete (9. bis 10. Jh.) : Politischer, geografischer und sozialer Rahmen der zivilen Verwaltung der Karolingerzeit. Die mittleren Verwaltungseinheiten sind für die Auvergne und deren Randgebiete im 9. und 10. Jh. urkundlich nachgewiesen ; Doch der Begriff vicaria an sich setzt sich erst in der zweiten Hälfte des 9. Jh. durch. Vorher ist der institutionnelle Wortgebrauch noch ungenau. Begriffe für den geografischen Rahmen der vicaria kommen in den Dokumenten des 10. Jh. häufig vor. Erst gegen das Jahr 1000 werden diese Nennungen weniger und sind nach 1040 sehr selten. Wie kann diese Entwicklung erklärt werden ? Es ist schwierig sich auf floskelhafte Erwähnungen des Begriffs zu stützen. Deshalb muss in einem zweiten Arbeitsgang hinterfragt werden, was denn die Aufgabe des vicarius war, besonders seine richterlichen Kompetenzen. Diese Aufgaben haben sich im 10. Jh. sehr geändert, auch wenn diese Veränderungen längst nicht so bedeutend waren wie die Veränderungen, die mit dem Aufkommen der Privatjustiz der Feudalzeit einhergingen.

To interpret this evolution, it is difficult to found one’s analysis on such stereotyped mentions. That is why it is important, in a second time, to ask questions about the roles of the vicarius, particularly concerning judiciary matters. From this point of view, change was important in the 10th century but without comparison to the transformations provoked by the arrival of a private justice.

La vicaria en Auvernia y en sus aledaños (siglos IX-X). El marco político, espacial y social de una circunscripción civil. En Auvernia y en sus aledaños, se evidencia la presencia de marcos territoriales intermediarios en los siglos IX y X. Pero siendo poco estables las denominaciones instituticionales, el vocablo vicaria no tiene vigencia hasta la segunda mitad del siglo IX. En los documentos del siglo X se encuentran muchas referencias a tales marcos territoriales. En cambio van disminuyendo considerablemente a partir del año mil y son muy escasas después de 1040. Para interpretar esa evolución, es dificil apoyarse en menciones tan estereotipadas. Por eso es importante en une secunda parte cuestionar el papel del vicarius, y en particular su competencia jurídica. Sobre ese particular los cambios son notables en el siglo X, pero sin que se puedan comparar con las transformaciones consecuencias de la llegada de una justicia privada.
