Mike Hollett, « Video active learning : preparing science students for real future professional communication needs », Cahiers de l'APLIUT, ID : 10.3406/apliu.1986.2584
The author of this article teaches in a scientific and technical university environment. In these pages he explains how an English teacher, not necessarily competent in science and technology, can help an average student become an effective communicator in such fields. His method is based on : a) a very methodological presentation technique (use of specific visual aids for specific oral purposes), the presentation itself video-taped. b) the criticism of the presentation video.tape for improvement (linguistic tools and savoir faire provided by the teacher). c) An evaluation that considers the students improvement during the repetition of the presentation the following week.
