Two italian technological museums. If it is true that "visiting the country" helps in learning a foreign language, that is efficient only if the student has worked before starting, if he has methods for listening and taking note(s). For the LSP student, there is a further need to turn aside from the beaten track marked out by the guidebooks. Some well-chosen museums can give, on top of a linguistic enrichment, an insight into daily economic life, the technological heritage, the ways in which knowledge is passed on, and the historical development of sciences, which leaves a feeling which illuminates, through the country itself, the whole human mind. Two museums in Bologna provide an example in point.
