Les céramiques médiévales du site du Castérot à Sarron (Landes)

We studied a batch of ceramics gathered during a diagnostic boring on a ground close to the walled town of Sarron called the “Castérot”, in the Landes region of France. This collection spreads over a period going from the beginning of the XIVth century to the first half of the XVth. An other hypothesis allows a dating in the first quarter of the XIVth century. It gives us two main interesting informations : 1) the coexistence of two fashioning techniques ; 2) the presence of stone ware from the pottery village of Garos et Bouillon in the Béarn region.

L'étude présentée ici porte sur un lot de céramiques recueilli lors d'un sondage-diagnostic réalisé sur un ouvrage de terre, le Castérot, lié à la bastide landaise de Sarron. Cet ensemble, qui fournit des informations non négligeables en terme d'individus, peut être placé dans une fourchette chronologique comprise entre le début du XIVe siècle et la première moitié du XVe siècle. Une autre hypothèse permet d'envisager une datation dans le premier quart du XIVe siècle. L'une ou l'autre de ces attributions s'avère intéressante dans la mesure où l'on note dans ce lot issu d'un site des pays de l'Adour, d'une part, la coexistence de deux techniques de façonnage et, d'autre part, la présence de grès identifiés comme provenant du centre potier béarnais de Garos et Bouillon.
