Évolution d’une domus dans un quartier urbain de Périgueux antique

An archaeological survey conducted in 2005 to 8, Vésone impasse in Périgueux revealed the remains of two rooms preceded by a portico apartment probably a domus located 300 m south west of the monumental center of the city’s High Empire. The investigation focused on the development of what appears to be a rich peristyle remains throughout antiquity. Then the environmental characteristics of the phase of abandonment dated last quarter of the third century AD were determined. Finally the operation of the site as a career of architectural materials was analyzed using methods of paleo-environmental. An evocation of ruiniform and conditions of the landfill site was finally proposed.

Une fouille archéologique réalisée en 2005 au 8, impasse de Vésone à Périgueux a révélé les vestiges de deux salles précédées d’un portique appartement vraisemblablement à une domus située à 300 m au sud-ouest du centre monumental de la ville du Haut-Empire. Les investigations ont porté sur l’évolution de ce qui semble être une riche demeure à péristyle durant toute l’Antiquité. Ensuite les caractères environnementaux de la phase d’abandon datée du dernier quart du IIIe siècle p. C. ont été déterminés. Enfin l’exploitation du site comme carrière de matériaux architecturaux a été analysée à l’aide des méthodes paléo-environnementales. Une évocation des conditions ruiniformes et d’enfouissement du site a été enfin proposée.
