The Chinese bronzes collected by the financier Henri Cernuschi (1821-1896) and now in the collections of the Musée Cernuschi in Paris, were bought during a trip to Asia in 1871-1872. They include a number of antique vases ranging from the Shang Dynastie on. Many of the bronzes brought back by Cernuschi, however, are archaistic and form one of the most important collection in this field throughout the world. Some of these antique bronzes, such as the gui M.C. 2384 or the ding M.C. 689 and a few vases from the Song Dynasty to the begining of the Mings, are discussed here.

Les bronzes chinois des collections du financier Henri Cernuschi (1821-1896), actuellement conservées au musée qui porte son nom, furent acquis par celui-ci au cours du voyage qu'il fit autour du monde en 1871-1872. Parmi eux figurent un certain nombre de vases antiques remontant jusqu'à la dynastie Shang. Toutefois, beaucoup des bronzes sont des vases archaïsants et la collection est sans doute une des plus importantes au monde dans ce domaine. Certains de ces bronzes antiques, ainsi que quelques bronzes archaïsants sont ici présentés.
