Résumé En

Marie-France Dupoizat An analysis of the ceramics and earthen wares found on the site of Mojopahit reveals a highly developed taste for ornamental beauty. A large amount of the material was imported from China, Vietnam, Thailand and the Middle-East, and particular attention was given to colour. Among the decorative ceramics are tiles of various forms, primarily adorned with floral patterns, which were produced in the north of present-day Vietnam between the second half of the XVth and the early XVIth centuries. The origin of such tiles is to be found in the Persian tradition : it is after having seen tiles from the Middle-East that people in Mojopahit ordered similar ones from Vietnam.
