D. Dufournier, Elements of technology applied to the excavation of Medieval Kilns. For a kiln firing to be successful, a certain number of thermic conditions must be satisfied. The contribution of these conditions is largely dependent on the configuration and the fitting out of the kiln. Knowledge of these technical parameters must thus be a valid contribution towards the elaboration of a global excavation strategy, and must help to move towards a better understanding of the finds, once brought to light.

La réussite d'une cuisson dans un four de potier exige que soient satisfaites un certain nombre de conditions thermiques. La réunion de ces conditions dépend en grande partie de la configuration du four et de ses principaux aménagements. La connaissance de ces paramètres techniques doit ainsi pouvoir contribuer à l'élaboration d'une stratégie globale de la fouille et participer à une meilleure lecture des vestiges mis au jour.
