Tote bei den Lebenden : Bestattungen in Iändlichen Siedlungen des Frühmittelalters in der Île-de-France. Eine wachsende Anzahl von Tiefbauarbeiten, besonders in der Île-de-France, führte zur Entdeckung von Bestattungen, entwedereinzeln, oder in kleinen Gruppen, innerhalb von ländlichen Siedlungen des Frühmittelalters. Vergleicht man ihre Eigenschaften mit denen von Gräbern aus grossen Nekropolen, ob diese nun zu einem Sakralbau gehören oder nicht, so zeigt sich, dass sie sich vom gewöhnlichen Befund ihrer Zeit nur in einem unterscheiden - eben durch ihre Anzahl und ihreLage. Diese hat man hàufig damit zu erklaren versucht, dass die so bestatteten Personen ausgegrenzt werden sollten. Diese Vermutung wird heute in Frage gestellt. Denn was hier zum Vorschein kommt, scheint vielmehr die Verschiedenartigkeit der Bestattungssitten des Frühmittelalters zu sein.

The Dead Among the living : burials in rural settlements during the early Midle Ages in Île-de-France. The increase of construction projects related to town and country planning, particularly in Île-de-France, has lead to the discovery of burials, either isolated or in groups, within rural settlements dating to the Early Middle Ages. Analysis of the characteristics of these burials, and their comparison with those from larger funereal groups, related or not to a religious edifice, shows that nothing distinguishes them from what is generally known for the period in question, apart from their numbers and their topographic situation. Hypotheses habitually evoked, suggesting a form of segregation of the people concerned, are now questioned. It seems more probable that these burials are in fact a reflection of the diversity of funerary practices during the Early Middle Ages

La multiplication des travaux d’aménagement du territoire, notamment en Île-de-France, a permis de mettre au jour la présence de sépultures, isolées ou en petits groupes, au sein des habitats ruraux du haut Moyen Âge. L’analyse des caractéristiques de ces inhumations et leur comparaison avec celles issues des grands ensembles funéraires, liés ou non à un édifice de culte, montre que rien ne les distingue de ce qui est habituellement connu à cette époque hormis leur nombre et leur situation topographique. Les hypothèses couramment évoquées, privilégiant une mise à l’écart des individus concernés, sont aujourd’hui rediscutées. En effet, nous verrons qu ’il s’agit plutôt du reflet de la diversité des pratiques funéraires durant le haut Moyen Âge.
