Radoslovich a publié un affinement de la muscovite (Acta Cryst. 1960-13-919) au terme duquel il trouvait une rotation des tétraèdres et une localisation des substitutions isomorphes sur un seul des 2 sites tétraédriques. La nature de l'atome central était déduite de la longueur des liaisons "Si" -O. L'examen des projections publiées et l'application du test statistique de Luzzati aux facteurs de structure observés et calculés nous a conduit à penser que la précision avait été largement surestimée. Un nouvel affinement, portant sur tous les Fobs publiés, a été effectué en utilisant la méthode des moindres carrés. Les nouveaux paramètres trouvés améliorent sensiblement le facteur de re-liabilité, conservent en général les rotations des tétraèdres signalées mais conduisent à des longueurs de liaison identiques entre l'atome central et les oxygènes des sommets pour les 2 sites tétraédriques . Cette révision nous permet d'affirmer que le contenu chimique des 2 sites tétraédriques est le même et que sa composition moyenne 3/4 Si + 1/4 est confirmé par la longueur de liaison trouvée. Ces résultats sur la répartition moyenne des substitutions sont désormais en accord avec l'étude que nous effectuons sur la distribution précise de ces substitutions, à partir des phénomènes diffus observés en dehors des taches de Bragg.
