The thermoluminescent characteristics of synthetic hydroxyl apatite have been examined ; this material being the fundamental inorganic constituant of the enamel of teeth. In vue of trying to obtain an archaeological dating of teeth by TL, a chemical processus of de-proteinisation of the enamel has been adjusted. The predose effects of the grains extracted from human teeth - of an archaeological date between 100 and 6 000 years - have been studied.

Les caractéristiques thermoluminescentes de 1 'hydroxyl apatite synthétique ont été examinées, ce matériel étant le constituant inorganique fondamental de l'émail de la dent. En vue de faire une tentative de la datation archéologique des dents par thermoluminescence, un procédé chimique de déprotêinisa- tion de l'émail a été mis au point. Les effets de prédose des grains extraits des dents humains/âge archéologique entre 100 et 6 000 ans/ ont été étudiés.
