. — The first topic of this paper deals about the features of development of la Réunion. Previously a french colony, it is since 1946 a french département (D.O.M.). French governement did a lot for developping the island, and socio-economic progresses are obvious, but the insular economy is not yet fully developped. The second part is devoted to the integration of la Réunion into the European Community. Its situation is ambiguous because it is a french département, but lost in the Indian Ocean, 10000 km away from Europe, in a tropical environment. This integration is a luck for the economy of the island. At last the author exams the weakness of the relationship between la Réunion and the other islands of the Indian Ocean which belong to the A.C.P. countries.

. - Ce texte présente d'abord les caractères de développement et de sous-développement de la Réunion, liés respectivement à son statut de D.O.M. depuis 1946, et à son passé colonial et à l'éloignement. Il examine ensuite les relations entre cette île de l'Océan Indien et la C.E.E. dont elle fait partie en tant que département français. Il s'agit d'une situation complexe mais dont elle tire avantage (garantie des prix agricoles). Il traite enfin des rapports entre ce département et les îles voisines qui font partie des pays A.C.P. Ils sont faibles mais se développent.
