- The linking of tourism to agriculture is increasingly at the centre of the speculations about the future of the rural world. Tourism is often presented as a kind of cure, designed to insure a complement of income or even to save certain farms. Yet french agriculture cannot be dealt with uniformly : the development of this new activity is largely dependent upon the initial welle-being of the farm itself. Thus, tourism helps to widen the gap at the heart of the agriculture world. It is more of an individual business strategy than a social therapy.

- L'association du tourisme à l'agriculture est de plus en plus au cœur du débat sur l'avenir du monde rural. Le tourisme est présenté souvent comme une sorte de remède, destiné à assurer un complément de revenu voire à sauver certaines fermes. Or, l'agriculture française ne peut être traitée uniformément ; le développement de la nouvelle activité est largement tributaire de la bonne santé initiale de l'exploitation agricole. Le tourisme contribue ainsi à creuser l'écart au sein du monde agricole. Il relève davantage d'une stratégie individuelle d'entreprise que d'une sorte de thérapie sociale.
