La vallée de Samarcande est sillonnée de canaux d'irrigation dont certains sont très anciens. Pour pouvoir mener une étude archéologique de ces canaux, il faudrait pouvoir disposer d'une cartographie à jour, qui n'existe pas localement. Nous cherchons donc à réaliser cette cartographie automatiquement à partir d'une image SPOT. La nature polymorphe des canaux rendant les traitements habituels inefficaces, nous devons donc réaliser un filtre qui nous permette d'utiliser toutes les informations disponibles dans l'image pour identifier les canaux. Le résultat obtenu est alors meilleur, et nous pouvons l'affiner en l'intégrant dans un S.I.G.
