. - The border between San Diego and Tijuana, the most populated place in the world, is not only a passage point. The shopping habits of the communities on each side of the border show the local discrepancies depending on the socio-economical structures and cultural representations of each population as well as the conjuncture (the immigration policies of the countries involved and the fluctuation of the peso/dollar exchange rates). So the definition of transborder areas covers various realities.

. - Lieu le plus fréquenté du monde, la frontière entre San Diego et Tijuana n'est pas uniquement un point de passage. Les pratiques d'achat de la population des deux agglomérations révèlent des discontinuités de cet espace en fonction des structures socio-économiques et des représentations culturelles des populations respectives ainsi qu'en fonction de la conjoncture (politique d'immigration des Etats et évolution des taux change dollar/peso).
