The probability distribution of X ray intensities of uranium minerals is altered by the presence of uranium atoms. These atoms affect the statistical tests that are used to distinguish centric from acentric structures. If the positions of the heavy atoms are known (from the Patterson map), distribution curves can be calculated for centric structures (Collin). We have applied the Collin's method to the group determination of the three uranium minerals : sklodowskite, jachimovite and kasolite.
