Δεν είναι δυνατό να δεχτούμε όλες τις προτάσεις του CID II (Οι οικονομικοί απολογισμοί του τέταρτου και του τρίτου αιώνα) που αναφέρονται στην οργάνωση των εργασιών και στη χρονολογία των κειμένων της περιόδου 346-336, τόσο σημαντικών για την ακριβή χρονολόγηση των επιχειρήσεων του τέταρτου ιερού πολέμου (συγκρότηση του κοινού των Ευβοέων και σύγκηση της αμφικτιονικής συνόδου όπου ο Αισχίνης έλαβε το λόγο), για τη σειρά των εργασιών στο ναό, για τη διευθέτηση των οικονομικών απολογισμών των ναο- ποιών, και μάλιστα για την ανασύνθεση του «τοίχου των απολογισμών». Στη μελέτη επανεξετάζονται ορισμένα προβλήματα συνδεόμενα λιγότερο ή περισσότερο με τον άρχοντα Πά- λαιο και γίνεται επισκόπηση των οικονομικών απολογισμών όπου αναφέρεται ή έχει αποκατασταθεί το όνομα του. Μετά από την επανεξέταση αυτή επιβεβαιώνεται ή μπορεί να υποστηριχτεί ότι ο Δαμόξενος είναι πράγματι ο άρχοντας του 346/5, ότι ο άρχοντας Αρι- στόνυμος τοποθετείται πράγματι το 341/340, ότι ο άρχοντας της 35ης πυλαίας (όνομα με 7 γράμματα) δεν είναι ο Παλαιός, ο οποίος τοποθετείται όμως το 337/6, και ότι ο απολογισμός CD 77 αποτελεί πράγματι την αρχή του CD 75 (απολογισμός με απουσίες).

One cannot accept ail the proposals of CID II (TheAccounts of the fourth and third centuries) concerning the régulation of the works and the chronology of the documents for the period 346-336, which are so important for the precise dating ofthe operations of the Fourth Sacred War (the establishment of the Euboean koinon and the date of the Amphictionic session in which Aeschines had his turn to speak), for the succession of the temple works, for the ordering of the accounts of the Naopes, and indeed for the restoration of the « wall of accounts ». This study takes up again certain questions linked more or less closely to the archon Palaios and passes in review the accounts in which his name is either mentioned or restored. Following on this fresh examination, it can be confirmed or established that Damoxenos was the archon in 346/5, that Aristonymos is well dated to 341/340, that the archon on the 35th pyle (an archon with 7 letters) was not Palaios, who nevertheless is well dated to 337/6, and that the account CD 11 is certainly the beginning of CD 75 (an apousiai account).

On ne peut accepter toutes les propositions de CID II (Les Comptes du quatrième et du troisième siècle) relatives à l'ordonnance des travaux et à la chronologie des documents de la période 346-336, si importants pour la datation précise des opérations de la quatrième guerre sacrée (établissement du koinon eubéen et date de la session amphictionique où Eschine prit la parole), pour la succession des travaux au temple, pour une mise en ordre des comptes de naopes, voire pour la reconstitution du « mur des comptes ». Cette étude reprend certaines questions liées de près ou de loin à l'archonte Palaios et passe en revue les comptes où son nom est ou mentionné ou restitué. À la suite de ce nouvel examen il se confirme ou on peut établir que Damoxénos est bien l'archonte de 346/5, que l'archonte Aristonymos date bien de 341/340, que l'archonte de la 35e pylée (archonte à 7 lettres) n'est pas Palaios, lequel se place bien toutefois en 337/6 et que le compte CD 11 est bien le début de CD 75 (compte à apousiaî).
