Η φύση της πτολεμαϊκής αλλαγής Οι αναφορές στην αλλαγή είναι συχνές στους παπύρους της εποχής των Πτολεμαίων και συνεχίζουν σε εκείνες όπου εμφανίζεται η μετοχή διαγραφόμενα στην αυτοκρατορική περίοδο. Σύμφωνα με την παρα-δοσιακή ερμηνεία θεωρείται ότι πρόκειται για συναλλαγματική πράξη μεταξύ αργυρού και χάλκινου νομίσματος, που προβληματίζει όμως τόσο τους παπυρολόγους, όσο και τους νομισματολόγους. Στις εκφράσεις προς χαλκόν και προς αργύριον, που είναι και οι δύο άρρηκτα συνδεδεμένες με την αλλαγή, δε γίνεται λόγος για πληρωμές με αργυρό ή χάλκινο νόμισμα αλλά για νομισματικούς σταθμητικούς κα-νόνες αναφοράς, που συνδέονται με το χαλκό ή τον άργυρο. Δύο παραρτήματα είναι αφιερωμένα, πρώτον στην επανεισαγωγή, κατά την αυτοκρατορική περίοδο, μιας αλλαγής ίδιου τύπου με την ελληνιστική, και, κατά δεύτερο, στη «μεταρρύθμιση » του χάλκινου νομίσματος στα χρόνια γύρω στο 200 π. Χ.

The nature of the ptolemaic allagè Expressions mentioning an allagè are not unusual in Ptolemaic papyri and they find their continuity in those in which the participle diagraphomena appears during the Imperial period. Traditionally interpreted as involving an exchange between silver and bronze coinage, they disconcert both papyrologists and numismatists. In the expressions pros chalkon and pros argyrion, both of them inseparable from the allagè, there is no question at all of payments in bronze or in silver, but of standards of reference articulated on bronze or silver. Two appendixes are devoted to recalling, first, the reintroduction in the Imperial period of a realignment of the same type as the Hellenistic allagè and, secondly, the « reform » of the bronze coinage during the last decade of the 3rd century B. C.

Les formules qui mentionnent une allagè ne sont pas rares dans les papyri ptolémaïques et ont leur prolongement dans celles où figure le participe diagraphomena à l’époque impériale. Traditionnellement interprétées comme impliquant un change entre monnaies d’argent et monnaies de bronze, elles embarassent autant les papyrologues que les numismates. Dans les expressions pros chalkon et pros argyrion, l’une et l’autre indissociables de l’allagè, il n’est pas question de paiements en bronze ou en argent, mais d’étalons de référence articulés sur le bronze ou l’argent. Deux appendices sont consacrés à évoquer, en premier lieu, la réintroduction à l’époque impériale d’une péréquation de même type que l’allagè hellénistique et, ensuite, la «réforme » du monnayage en bronze dans les années 200 av. J.-C.
