After differentiating between ethics, which involves an inquiry into the nature of values, and deontology, which concerns professional standards and morales, the author reflects of what is involved in the development of psychological techniques of assessment bearing on the capacities and specificity of the human being. There is a particular focus on what is produced by such an undertaking, and why. Drawing on an example from the clinical domain, the inherent risks of different modes of psychological evaluation are also emphasized.

Après avoir distingué l'Éthique, qui est questionnement sur les valeurs, de la déontologie, qui relève de la morale professionnelle, l'auteur réfléchit à ce qu'implique la mise au point de techniques psychologiques d'évaluation des capacités et spécificités de l'être humain, en particulier sur ce qui est ainsi produit et pour quoi il l'est. Prenant un exemple dans le domaine clinique, elle souligne les risques inhérents aux différents modes d'évaluation psychologique.
