Summary. — A shift toward a carnivorous diet and the process of acquiring meat resources are considered crucial steps in the beginnings of hominid differenciation. The behavior of contemporary animals may give insights into the factors that shaped early human ancestors. In this paper concrete observations on prédation among non human primates are gathered together, and some possible applications to human paleo-ethology are discussed.

. — L'adoption d'une nourriture camée et de ses techniques d'acquisition est considérée comme un stade crucial de l 'évolution des primates menant à l 'Homme. Or, l 'étude de l'hominisation utilise largement le comparatisme animal. Cet article présente une revue d'observations concrètes sur différents aspects de la prédation chez les primates non humains, et les principales applications à la paléo-éthologie humaine sont discutées.
