Résumé En

The author shows, with new characters, that the two genera Allantus Panzer and Emphytus Klug, often regarded as synonyms, are quite distinct. Emphytus bequaerti Forsius, 1919, from Algeria and Tunisia, very different from all known species in the genus, is removed from Emphytus to a new genus, Maghrebiella. Keys are given for identification of the genera Allantus, Emphytus and Maghrebiella, and for the species of the genus Allantus. Lastly, the male of Allantus enslini Forsius, 1919, from Algeria and Morocco, still unknown, is described and notes are given about the geographic distribution and biology of this species.
