Summary. -Lucanus (Pseudolucanus) denticulus n. sp. is described on a female specimen from the mesophilous forest of medium altitude of the Gaoligong Mountains, on the Sino-Burmese border. The morphological characteristics of the species are very peculiar for the genus, as the strong ponctuation of the head and the pronotum, the well pronounced striation of elytrae, the convexity of the frontal ridge, the large size of the mandibulae and the reduction of the meta-episternae. Those characters set up the species in a monospecific group, which is geographically isolated from the other species of the sub-genus.

. -Lucanus (Pseudolucanus ) denticulus n. sp. est décrit sur une femelle unique provenant de la forêt mésophile de moyenne altitude de la chaîne sino-birmane Gaoligong. La morphologie de l'espèce est très particulière pour le genre, notamment : la forte et abondante ponctuation céphalique et pronotale, la convexité du bord frontal, la grande taille et la finesse des mandibules, la réduction latéro-postérieure des métépisternes, la striation élytrale marquée. Ces caractères amènent à placer l'espèce dans un groupe monospécifique, d'autant plus qu'elle est géographiquement isolée des autres représentants du sous-genre.
