Des dégâts sur Palmier à huile occasionnés par Galapaganus howdenae ont été récemment observés dans une plantation de la province d’Esmeraldas en Équateur. Ce Charançon est polyphage et c’est son premier signalement comme ravageur potentiel du Palmier à huile.
