Des sulfures de formule Cu₂MM'S₄, où M est Mn, Fe, Co ou Ni et M' est Ge ou Sn, présentent des transitions antiferromagnétiques à basse température. Cu₂MnSnS₄ a pour groupe spatial I[-4]2m, et Cu₂MnGeS₄ Pmn2₁. Les interactions de superéchange entre atomes M se produisent suivant le schéma M-S-M' non magnétique -S-M.
