Le sondage "Requin 3" implanté sur l'atoll de Mururoa (Polynésie française) a pénétré un dôme de trachyte comenditique à arfvedsonite et aegyrine. C'est la première découverte d'une roche hyperalcaline sur cet atoll, les séries de Mururoa étant essentiellement constituées, comme les séries du Sud Pacifique, de roches basaltiques. Ce trachyte montre des teneurs élevées en Zr (1300 ppm) et Nb (470 ppm). Outre des phases riches en Zr (zircons) et Nb (ilménorutiles) trouvées en inclusions dans des magnétites, ces deux éléments se trouvent dans des minéraux d'apparition tardive, le pyrochlore (Nb) et les aegyrines (Zr). Ces aegyrines peuvent contenir jusqu'à 5 % ZrO2 dont l'introduction dans la structure implique une substitution couplée de la molécule FM-NAZ et d'hédenbergite. La double localisation de ces deux éléments montre que leur comportement est complexe. Ce trachyte contient également des carbonates primaires qui pseudomorphosent probablement des olivines riches en fer.
