Ireland is an insular state exposed to the swell of the North Atlantic Ocean. But this country doesn’t get the image of maritime nation. Nevertheless, Ireland profits by a rich sea tradition. Ireland becomes an important sea fishing state, in the frame of restrained european context.

État insulaire largement exposé aux houles de l’Atlantique Nord, l’Irlande, paradoxalement, n’offre que fort peu l’image d’une nation maritime. Ce pays bénéficie pourtant d’un riche héritage en la matière, souvent méconnu. En outre, il effectue un retour spectaculaire dans le domaine des activités halieutiques, dans un contexte européen pourtant peu propice au développement de la pêche.
