The Architectural Heritage of Solikamsk and the Northern Districts of Perm Province

Архитектурное наследие Соликамска и северных районов Пермской области. Соликамск и Чердынь -два из самых древних русских поселений на Урале. Стратегически расположенные на торговых путях, возле обильных соляных копей, они пользовались своим богатством, чтобы воздвигнуть изысканные церкви и другие памятники, начиная с XVII столетия. Фотографии этих памятников и комментарии к ним автора позволяют осмыслить распространение русского архитектурного стиля на Урале и в Сибири.

The towns of Solikamsk and Cherdyn' are among the oldest Russian settlements in the Ural Mountains. Strategically located on trading routes and near abundant salt springs, they benefited from wealth that supported the construction of elaborate Orthodox churches and other historic monuments, beginning with the seventeenth century. These structures, discussed and photographed by the author, provide an insight into the spread of Russian architectural styles throughout the Urals and beyond.

L'Héritage architectural de Solikamsk et du nord de la province de Perm'. Les villes de Solikamsk et Čerdyn' font partie des plus anciens établissements russes dans l'Oural. Stratégiquement situées sur des routes commerciales, auprès d'abondantes salines, elles ont bénéficié d'une richesse qui a permis à partir du XVIIe siècle d'édifier églises et autres monuments. Ces bâtiments, photographiés et examinés par l'auteur, permettent d'apprécier la diffusion du style architectural russe dans l'Oural et au-delà.
