Luigi Finocchietti, « Luceria: su alcune questioni di topografia storica del territorio », Cahiers du Centre Gustave Glotz, ID : 10.3406/ccgg.2012.1768
This paper deals with some questions concerning the ancient territory of the Latin colony of Luceria, that was positioned in the 2nd Augustan Region called Apulia et Calabria, in the time period between the Roman conquest (during the last quarter of the 4th century B. C.) and late-antiquity. The reconstruction of the territorial limits are problematic, representing the first step in the analysis in the transformations of the rural landscape, settlement pattern and the Roman rural estate. This study takes into consideration all aspects of Luceria’s political history and the concomitant division of the land, based on all the historical, epigraphic and archaeological evidence.
