The presentation of the Idalion Bronze in ICS 217, which is generally used by archaeologists and historians, has to be modified in some points. The most important one : the text does not offer a choice to the family of doctors, because the sequences e-tu-wa-no-i-nu and e-to-ko-i-nu in the decisive passages must be aorists followed by particles (eduwan oi(n)nu and ed ok' oi(n)nu) and not present optatives. Further is argumented that ka-te-wo-ro-ko-ne/ kateworgon/, "they besieged", might be an imperfect instead of an aorist ; the adjectives pa-no-ni-o-ne/ panonion/ and pa-no-ni-o-se/ panoniosl concern most probably the right to "use" and not the right to "sell" ; the verbal form e-xe I o-ru-xe/ exoruxë/ must belong to όρυσσω, "to dig", and not to όρίζω, "to divide" ; there might be a scribal error i-/ i/, "and", instead of it it, "or" ; the expression pe-re-ta-li-o-ne/ per' Edalion/, "around Idalion", might present a trace of an archaic formula better attested in Vedic Indian.
