Résumé En

In this paper we present a recently discovered enigmatic building complex in the ancient Paphos necropolis, dated to the end of the Hellenistic and early Roman period. Many human burials have been revealed among the buildings together with a large number of dog burials, constituting a unique funerary custom in Cyprus. The finds present us with an opportunity to study the position of dogs in ancient Cypriot society and the interpretation of dog burial customs in association with other finds on the site.
