Notes comparatives sur le pa-hng

Pa-hng is one of the lesser known languages of the Hmong-Mjen family. Using data gathered during fieldwork in 1 995 and in 1 996, we present the Pa- hng dialects of Tân Trjnh (Vietnam, province of Hà Giang) and of Báiyún (China, province of Guàngxï). The discussion of their phonological systems and of some problems of historical phonology is followed by a list of the Pa- hng words which appear to have Hmong and/or Mjen cognates in the comparative vocabulary by Wang, Мао (1995). The Pa-hng dialect of Wénjiè (Guăngxī) as presented in Wang and Mao's vocabulary is also taken into account.

Le pa-hng est une langue encore peu connue de la famille Hmong-Mjen. Nous décrivons dans le présent article les parlers pa-hng de Tân Trjnh (Vietnam, province du Hà Giang) et de Báiyún (Chine, province du Guàngxï) d'après des données recueillies lors d'enquêtes de terrain effectuées en 1995 et en 1996. L'exposé de leurs systèmes phonologiques et de quelques problèmes de phonologie historique est suivi d'un lexique qui comprend les mots pa-hng pouvant être rapprochés des cognats Hmong et/ou Mjen présentés dans le vocabulaire comparatif de Wang, Мао (1995). Nous incluons également dans nos développements le parler pa-hng de Wénjiè (Guăngxī) tel qu'il apparaît dans ce vocabulaire.
